Interested in helping your community? Then working as part of the fire comany is a great way to help and pick up a couple extras while you are at it.
You need to be:
1) At least 18 years old
2) Have a valid NJ drivers license
3) Be a resident of one of the following: Brorough of Tinton Falls, Shrewsbury Township, Red Bank, Lincroft, Shrewsbury or Eatontown and have been a resident for 6 months
The rest is easy:
- You must complete the application
- Pass the background checks
- Receive a favorable recommendation from the investigating committee
Following this you will become a Probationary member for 6 months.
After completion of 6 months as a probationary member, the active members will vote to accept or reject your membership based on your performance and recommendations by the line officers.

Lenght of Service Award Program (LOSAP)
A statewide program established in 1998 to provide communities the ability to implement retirement savings contributions to volunteer emergency responders. For more information see this from the state.
Life Insurance
District supplied life insurance policy when you make 40% of your LOSAP points.
Training
Fire company members are trained in fire ground operations, safety, ladders, ropes, wildland fire suppression, electical and chemical hazards and incident command.
Training starts with Fire Fighter I & II given at the Monmouth County Fire Academy or Middletown Fire Academy.

Training continues throughout your career as you progress in experience and command responsibilities.
Tuition Assistance
The Borough of Tinton Falls participates in a program providing tuition waviers for volunteer emergency responders up to $600 per year. This program covers both the volunteer and their spouse and dependent children. It starts after your first year of service, and you can get additional tuition credit for each individual emergency service organization you belong to.
