Fire Apparatus
Northside Engine Company runs several types of fire apparatus, each unit provides unique capabilities on the fire scene.
36-491 a 2009 Seagrave 100' stick 500 gal water tank and 2000 gpm pump, with an 8 man cab. (see also Building 491 and 491 Wetdown).
Our pumper:
36-477 a 1994 Seagrave engine with a 750 gallon tank and 1500 gallon per minute pump. It also has a 1500 gpm deck gun, and a 10-person cab.
Our rescue:
36-486 an International/E-One with cascade air tank resupply system, fire scene support material and personnel rehabilitation area.
Our brush truck:
36-494: Our repurposed military 6x6 (220 horsepower, 44,000 Rear Tandems, 20,000 lbs Front Axle) cargo truck, now functioning as a brush truck for response to wooded areas within the borough and neighboring towns. This truck has protected seating in the cargo area, 800 gallon water tank and on board pump and hose reel as well as woodland fire suppression tools.
491 Visited with Wallington NJ, home of its sister truck, for their annual holiday parade.
Our previous ladder truck:
36-490 a 1989 Seagrave 75' ladder, 300 gallon tank and 1500 gallon per minute pump. Retired 2010.
